Our History

Ritual Abuse Network Scotland (RANS) was established in 2002 and was founded by survivors. It was formerly known as Izzy's Promise.
The name came from a particularly special individual who was incredibly motivated to make support available to survivors  of sexual abuse. Those that knew Izzy were instrumental to the setting up of Izzy's Promise - RANS.

Since being founded RANS has worked with hundreds of RA survivors from around the world and each individual's story and strength has contributed to our ability to support survivors and raise awareness.

Our Support Service

All of our support is offered by trained and background checked volunteers. We can talk with you via Email, the RANS forum, text, phone, and in person (location dependent).

Our support is open to people of any gender, race, religion, nationality, faith/belief, sexuality.

Our service is highly confidential and you do need a referral. We do not keep any notes (unless you ask us to) and we do not need to know your real name.

We do have a limited number of people to provide support so unfortunately we can't offer a drop in service at this time. But please do contact us to arrange an appointment if that would be helpful to you.
